SPHS Lady Tiger Fastpitch Coach Ashleigh Hicks has been named MHSAA Fastpitch Coach of the Year. This coveted award is given out annually to the most deserving fastpitch coach across all classifications. This is an exemplary honor that Coach Hicks has received. Coach Hicks extends this honor to her players, school community, and parents. Congratulations Coach Hicks, this is well deserved.
Due to scheduling conflicts with SPHS sports and certified personnel continuing during Sports Seasons, SPSD Intramural Sports start date will be postponed until March 4th. Intramural spring sports season will begin on March 4th through April 3rd.

The SP District Spelling Bee was held December 17th at BJH. Terriah McNutt, a fifth grader from BMS placed first, Brennan Moulding, a fifth grader from BMS placed second, and Karleigh Tutor, an eighth grader from Pope School placed third. All three students will move on to the Mississippi Spelling Bee semi-finals held in February!
There will be an archery meeting at 3:30 on Wednesday, December 11th in room 226 at the high school for all students 7-12th in the district that are interested in participating in archery this season.
