An ambulance was called to Batesville Elementary School to assist with a student's medical needs. Family has been notified.

Due to the threat of prolonged severe weather, the South Panola High School Junior and Senior Prom will be postponed. A new date will be determined. As always, the safety of all of our students and staff is our top priority.

Shattered Dreams: Today, we held a safety drill to remind our students of the harsh consequences of drinking and driving. Through this realistic simulation, we aimed to show just how easily dreams can be shattered in an instant. It’s a wake-up call: the choices we make today can impact our future forever. Thank you to all of our community members that made this possible. #SPfamily

South Panola School District would like to inform you that an important safety drill will take place in the parking lot of Dunlap Stadium on March 6th at 9am. This drill is designed to educate students about the dangers of drinking and driving and will involve various emergency response vehicles, including helicopters, fire trucks, ambulances, police vehicles, and county emergency vehicles. Please note, this is a drill only. There will be no real emergency taking place; however, the presence of these vehicles and the simulated emergency situation may be alarming to some. The purpose of this exercise is to provide hands-on learning experiences that demonstrate the serious consequences of impaired driving. We hope this drill will leave a lasting impact on all who participate and witness it. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation. The drill is a controlled and carefully coordinated exercise aimed at educating and raising awareness.

We are actively monitoring the weather as it develops, and according to the latest radar, the worst conditions are expected to occur around dismissal time. As a precaution, we may delay bus departures until the weather clears to ensure the safety of all students and staff. Please know that the safety of our students and staff remains our top priority, and we will keep you updated with any changes to our dismissal plans. SPHS Lady Tiger Fastpitch Coach Ashleigh Hicks has been named MHSAA Fastpitch Coach of the Year. This coveted award is given out annually to the most deserving fastpitch coach across all classifications. This is an exemplary honor that Coach Hicks has received. Coach Hicks extends this honor to her players, school community, and parents. Congratulations Coach Hicks, this is well deserved.

Due to scheduling conflicts with SPHS sports and certified personnel continuing during Sports Seasons, SPSD Intramural Sports start date will be postponed until March 4th. Intramural spring sports season will begin on March 4th through April 3rd.

South Panola School District will be on a 2 hour delay on Wednesday, February , 19, 2025.
