🚨 HOSA Club Update! 🚨 We are so proud of our members who passed the district round of testing and had the opportunity to compete at the State Competition in Jackson, MS last week! 👏 Congratulations to Layla Jaco, Kirstyn Shegog, and Vaneassa Leal for representing our club so well. Special shoutout to Vaneassa Leal for earning an amazing 2nd place in Pharmacology in the State! 🏅🎉 The students had a fantastic time networking with other HOSA members and exploring cutting-edge medical technology, including an Anatomage table, which uses 3D imaging of a cadaver for educational purposes! 🧠💡 A huge thank you to everyone who supports our HOSA program — we couldn't do it without you! 🙌

South Panola High School Choirs are Superior!! Cantabile received ALL Superior scores and a Sweepstakes award. Bellissima received ALL Superior scores and a Sweepstakes award. Coro Machile received a Superior score in Sight Reading and Superior/Excellent/Excellent scores in Performance. Armonia received an Excellent score in Sight Reading and all Superior scores in Performance. Bella Voce received all Superior scores in performance and was the highest scoring Ensemble of the day! Recently, Lt. Col. Leonard Boothe had the opportunity to speak with the Batesville Rotary Club about the 2025 National All-Service JROTC Aerial Drone Championship. He says he is grateful for their support in raising awareness about this event, saying their support will be pivotal in ensuring its success—not just for our school, but for our city and state as a whole. He goes on to say that "this event is more than just a competition; it embodies the can-do spirit that small towns across our nation are known for. It showcases how communities can come together to create a lasting impact, while also highlighting the remarkable potential of our youth as they work toward bright futures in STEM." Our very own Senior Kendall Hardin was selected by Mississippi State Representative Lataisha Jackson from District 11 to serve as a Page for the 2025 Legislative Session of the Mississippi House of Representatives. Kendall views her experience as enlightening and a significant benefit for her professional growth, expressing gratitude for this opportunity. She was also able to witness the Mississippi legislature engage in the historic passage of tax reform and the elimination of the Mississippi Income Tax.

Congratulations to the South Panola FFA Horse Evaluation Team! We are proud to announce that the South Panola FFA Horse Evaluation Team won the State FFA Contest on Saturday, March 22, at Mississippi State University! Emma Neth 2nd place high individual Alena O’Conner 3rd place high individual In the National FFA Horse Evaluation Career Development Event (CDE), students enhance their knowledge of equine science by evaluating and ranking horses based on breed characteristics, conformation, and performance. They also defend their decisions through oral reasons presented to a panel of judges. Our state-winning team includes: ⭐ Owen Morris ⭐ Alena O’Conner ⭐ Emma Neth ⭐ Cash O’Conner This outstanding team will represent Mississippi at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, IN, this October. Congratulations to these students on their hard work and dedication. We wish them the best of luck at Nationals!

🚨 Health Science Field Trip Alert! 🚨 Students from Ms. Payne and Mrs. Shultice's Health Science classes had the incredible opportunity to tour Wells Funeral Home in Batesville. 🏥✨ Chris Wells, owner, operator, and Licensed Funeral Director, gave the students a valuable behind-the-scenes look at the funeral home. He shared insights into how they support families through difficult times, including the paperwork process like death certificates, and emphasized the importance of care and compassion in this field. 💼💙 A huge thank you to Chris Wells for his time and dedication in helping educate our students on such an important, often overlooked profession.

Our Health Science Year 2 students had the privilege of hearing from Mrs. P. Neal with the MS State Extension Service on Tuesday, March 18, 2025!
