🚀 Made in Panola Career Fair Success! 🚀 On March 4th, SPH second-year Career and Technical students, along with seniors, attended the Made in Panola Career Fair at NWCC Concourse! 🎉 Around 30 businesses and industries from Panola County and nearby areas connected with students, discussing career opportunities and available positions. 💼 Students also participated in a soft skills training session, learning essential interview techniques, professional communication, and job-ready strategies. 💬 A huge thanks to NWCC for providing an insightful overview of their Career-Technical Education programs, including tours of programs such as Welding, Diesel Mechanics, CDL, Civil Engineering Technology, and Industrial Engineering Technology. 🔧🚜🛠️ A big thank you to Panola Partnership, all participating companies, and everyone who made this day a success! 🌟

Mrs. White's Culinary Arts II students had an amazing opportunity on Wednesday to tour the Ole Miss School of Applied Sciences' Dietetics and Nutrition Department! A huge thank you to Dr. Jeffery Pittman for arranging this incredible experience for our students. The day started with a tour of the Dietetics and Nutrition Building, Lenoir Hall, meeting with Dr. Pittman, a Dietetics & Nutrition Professor, and meeting with Lolita Gregory, the Assistant Dean of the School of Applied Sciences. Student Ambassador, Jakota, led our students on a fantastic campus tour, giving our students a glimpse into everyday campus life at Ole Miss and all of the amazing opportunities the university has to offer. To wrap up the day, our students enjoyed a delicious Cajun-themed lunch at Lenoir Dining, the student-run restaurant. Our students had the chance to indulge in authentic flavors and see firsthand how everything operates in a real-world culinary setting. This was an unforgettable experience for our students and we look forward to seeing what career pathways our Culinary Arts students choose in the future.

Our team of future healthcare leaders gathered for an exciting HOSA meeting! We discussed all things health science and discussed the upcoming HOSA State Conference. 🚀 With workshops, competitions, and networking ahead, our district competition winners are ready to showcase their skills and dedication at the state competition! 🏅 Stay tuned for updates and wish us luck as we prepare to represent at the state level!

South Panola High School Health Science & Clinical Services and Sports Medicine students had an incredible opportunity to hear from a compassionate and dedicated hospice nurse today! 💙🏥 Mrs. Amy Mizell with Gentiva Hospice shared her experiences in end-of-life care, the importance of empathy in nursing, and the vital role hospice professionals play in supporting patients and families. NATIONAL MERIT FINALIST⭐🏆 Congratulations to senior Meredith Cossey for being named a FINALIST for the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program! 🚗💡 Last Friday, our Advanced Manufacturing 2nd Year students had an incredible opportunity to tour Toyoda-Gosei! 🌟 They learned about the cutting-edge technology behind the injection molding machines used to manufacture high-quality plastic parts for Toyota, Honda, and other automotive giants. 🔧💥 The tour also featured exciting problem-solving activities that sparked curiosity and creativity. 🔍🤔 Students had a blast and many are now seriously considering a career with Toyoda-Gosei! 🚀 A big thank you to Toyoda-Gosei for hosting and providing such an insightful experience! 🙌

Each group crafted a detailed shopping list while practicing essential skills like budgeting, comparing prices, and making informed decisions about quality and quantity. This grocery trip helps our students create efficient, cost-effective choices while maintaining the standards of their creations. Our students' experience served as an introduction to real-world food procurement, emphasizing the importance of organization, time management, and financial planning in a professional kitchen. Students were encouraged to think critically about ingredient substitutions, portion sizes, and waste reduction, ensuring their purchases aligned with their menu goals. We are excited to watch them bring their visions to life.
