The SPHS AFJROTC Drone team crushed it this weekend at the Terre Haute Aerial Drone Invitational in Indiana this past weekend winning six out of eight awards by margins of 30 plus points.

Recently, our Early Childhood Education students had the pleasure of welcoming Mrs. Pat Neal and Mrs. Beth Bell from the Mississippi State Extension Service to classroom!
They shared valuable information about the importance of nutrition for young children and how to create a print-rich environment in the early learning classroom. Our students enjoyed learning practical ways to promote healthy habits and literacy development in preschool settings.
A huge thank you to Mrs. Pat and Mrs. Beth for spending time with our students and sharing their expertise! 💕

💗 South Panola FFA Honors Local Breast Cancer Survivors
In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the South Panola FFA Chapter proudly presented its 2025 “Blue & Gold Goes Pink” shirts to several Panola County residents who have courageously battled breast cancer.
Each year, our FFA members look for meaningful ways to support and connect with the community. This year’s project allowed students to not only raise awareness but also celebrate the strength, resilience, and hope shown by these incredible individuals.
During the presentation, FFA members and advisors gathered to personally thank each honoree for their bravery and perseverance. The bright pink shirts, printed with “FFA Batesville, MS” on the front and “Blue & Gold Goes Pink” on the back, symbolize the chapter’s unity with those affected by breast cancer and the ongoing fight for a cure.
The South Panola FFA Chapter extends heartfelt appreciation to the survivors who joined them for this special recognition. Their courage serves as an inspiration to our students and the entire community.
💙💛💗 Blue and Gold truly go Pink this October as South Panola FFA stands together in support, awareness, and love.

Last month, our student Blake Finkenbiner, a junior at SPHS, had the opportunity to meet with Mr. Sergio Vergara, Fire & Life Safety Educator for the City of Batesville Fire Department. Mr. Vergara shared valuable insight about careers in the Fire Service, including the pathway to becoming a firefighter and paramedic.
Blake is considering a future in firefighting while also planning to serve in the military after high school. Though still undecided on which branch he will enlist in, his strong interest in firefighting and emergency response is clear.
A special thank you to Mr. Vergara for taking the time to encourage and guide our students toward meaningful career opportunities!
