Hearts in Action: Our Students Volunteer at Beehive Homes of Batesville
Each day last week during Thanksgiving break, our high school students, alongside Career Coach Mrs. Hardin, volunteered at Beehive Homes of Batesville. This experience provided a meaningful opportunity for them to give back to their community while building genuine connections with the residents. Our students played games, painted, and planted flowers for the spring.
For many of our students, giving back as high schoolers means stepping beyond their own daily routines and learning what it truly means to serve others with compassion, patience, and respect. Their time at Beehive Homes taught them valuable lessons about empathy, responsibility, and the importance of contributing positively to the world around them. The residents’ stories, wisdom, and smiles served as powerful reminders that even small acts of kindness can leave a lasting impact.

Over the past couple of weeks, our National Honor Society chapter has hosted a Turkey Teacher Food Drive to support The Grace Place. Each item collected counted towards a point that students could give teachers or teachers could give themselves. We were so excited to have collected over 800 items to donate, and we also had a generous donation from a student and community member as well! Mrs. Hydrick is our 2025 Turkey Teacher and received a free turkey fenerously donated by Piggly Wiggly. Ms. Bailey and Dr. Smith came in second and third. NHS loves to serve our school and community!
