Recently, Mrs. Christy’s first-year Early Childhood students successfully completed their CPR training! ❤️💪

This is such a valuable skill for them to have as they prepare for future careers working with children and working with our Tiger Care students. Not only does CPR certification give them the confidence to act in an emergency, but it also teaches them responsibility, quick decision-making, and how to stay calm under pressure.

Whether in the classroom, at home, or in the community, knowing CPR could one day help save a life — making this training an important step in their Early Childhood journey. 👶👧🧒

We are so proud of their hard work and dedication to becoming safe and prepared caregivers! 👏👏

Mrs. Hamilton’s students explored alcoholic fermentation by testing yeast activity with different cereals. They measured CO₂ production by tracking how high their bags rose over time and graphed the class data to compare results. This experiment was cereal-ously bubbling over with science!

Esports tryouts will take place tomorrow and Wednesday! On Tuesday, August 26th, it will be Super Smash Bros and Rocket League. On Wednesday, August 27th, it will be Madden and Mario Kart.

🎉 Shoutout to Mrs. Pegueros’ Foundations of Biology students! 🎉

Her 1st, 3rd, and 4th block classes celebrated success today as the top 3 scorers from each class on the Unit One Test were rewarded with a bag of chips and a drink.

Hard work pays off – way to go, students! Keep up the great effort! 💪📚✨

📚✍️ Coach Kelly and Mrs. Bailey’s students had a special lesson this week from Mrs. Griffin! She guided them through the process of writing a narrative essay as part of their American Revolution unit.

Students learned how to grab their readers’ attention, organize their thoughts, and use proper formatting to bring their stories to life. What a great way to combine history and writing skills! 🇺🇸✨

The SP Boys Basketball Team will be selling teacher jerseys. Orders will be taken starting now, until 3pm on Thursday, September 4. You must fill out the google form below and then you will pay Kathy Elmore in the front office at SPHS. Jerseys are $60. Jerseys not paid for will not be ordered.
Sample sizes are available in room 105 at SPHS, if you would like to try one on.

Mrs. Hamilton's students experimented with enzymes this week. Each group observed the reaction that occurs when hydrogen peroxide comes in contact with catalase found in potatoes. From their results, they were then able to describe the effect pH and temperature has on enzyme activity.

Mrs. Hamilton's students used their knowledge of macromolecules and worked with their partners to crack the code during this escape room activity.
