Mrs. Hamilton’s students explored alcoholic fermentation by testing yeast activity with different cereals. They measured CO₂ production by tracking how high their bags rose over time and graphed the class data to compare results. This experiment was cereal-ously bubbling over with science!

Esports tryouts will take place tomorrow and Wednesday! On Tuesday, August 26th, it will be Super Smash Bros and Rocket League. On Wednesday, August 27th, it will be Madden and Mario Kart.

Her 1st, 3rd, and 4th block classes celebrated success today as the top 3 scorers from each class on the Unit One Test were rewarded with a bag of chips and a drink.

Hard work pays off – way to go, students! Keep up the great effort! 💪📚✨

📚✍️ Coach Kelly and Mrs. Bailey’s students had a special lesson this week from Mrs. Griffin! She guided them through the process of writing a narrative essay as part of their American Revolution unit.

Students learned how to grab their readers’ attention, organize their thoughts, and use proper formatting to bring their stories to life. What a great way to combine history and writing skills! 🇺🇸✨

The SP Boys Basketball Team will be selling teacher jerseys. Orders will be taken starting now, until 3pm on Thursday, September 4. You must fill out the google form below and then you will pay Kathy Elmore in the front office at SPHS. Jerseys are $60. Jerseys not paid for will not be ordered.
Sample sizes are available in room 105 at SPHS, if you would like to try one on.

Mrs. Hamilton's students experimented with enzymes this week. Each group observed the reaction that occurs when hydrogen peroxide comes in contact with catalase found in potatoes. From their results, they were then able to describe the effect pH and temperature has on enzyme activity.

Mrs. Hamilton's students used their knowledge of macromolecules and worked with their partners to crack the code during this escape room activity.

Mrs. Pegueros’s Foundations of Biology classes did an exciting escape room review of Macromolecules to help prepare for their first test next week.

Ms Hydrick’s Physical Science students were introduced to the lab on the first week. They conducted a lab that allowed them to follow the scientific method and basic lab procedures skills by making soap bubbles in class!

Today in Coach Pope's Earth and Space Class, students re-created and compared expanding balloons to the Big Bang Theory and made hypotheses to explain the beginning of the Universe!

Mrs. Pegueros’s Foundations of Biology students dove into their first group building activity with excitement and curiosity while working together and communicating effectively.
