Today, our Health Science students had the privilege of hearing from two amazing ER nurses — D. Edwards, RN, BSN and M. Holliday, RN, BSN!
They shared valuable insight into what it takes to become an RN and BSN, what college life is really like, and how important it is to understand your learning style to succeed in nursing school. 💡📚
Students also got to hear some incredible stories from their experiences working in the Emergency Room — the fast pace, the teamwork, and the moments that remind you why healthcare matters. 🚑❤️
Thank you both for inspiring our future healthcare professionals and taking the time to pour into our SPHS students! 🙌💙

Each day last week during Thanksgiving break, our high school students, alongside Career Coach Mrs. Hardin, volunteered at Beehive Homes of Batesville. This experience provided a meaningful opportunity for them to give back to their community while building genuine connections with the residents. Our students played games, painted, and planted flowers for the spring.
For many of our students, giving back as high schoolers means stepping beyond their own daily routines and learning what it truly means to serve others with compassion, patience, and respect. Their time at Beehive Homes taught them valuable lessons about empathy, responsibility, and the importance of contributing positively to the world around them. The residents’ stories, wisdom, and smiles served as powerful reminders that even small acts of kindness can leave a lasting impact.

Our SPHS Health Science students had a wonderful time helping decorate Christmas trees at our local nursing home today! The students jumped right in—hanging ornaments, adding lights, and bringing plenty of holiday spirit to brighten the residents’ day. ❤️
A huge thank you to Jason Adams, Activities Director, for inviting us to be part of this special project and Coach T. Higdon, SPHS CTE Director, for coordinating our visit. We appreciate the opportunity to give back and connect with our community.
While we were there, we also planned an upcoming visit where our students will return to spend time with the residents and deliver handmade Christmas cards created with lots of love and care. 🎁💌
We’re proud of our students for their kindness, compassion, and service this season! 🎅🏼🎁🌟

Dr. Unruh talked with our students about how to care for pets, what veterinarians do, and the importance of responsibility when it comes to our furry family members. Maggey was the star of the show—sweet, patient, and full of love! 💛🐶
We are so thankful for Dr. Unruh taking time out of her day to give our Tiger Care students such a fun and educational experience.
Thank you, Dr. Unruh and Maggey! 🐾💙
Students got a firsthand look at how the impressive automotive facility builds Nissan Altimas and Nissan Frontiers from the ground up. It was a great day of real-world learning and inspiration for our future manufacturers!

Our Health Care and Clinical Services students had an amazing opportunity to tour Tyson Pharmacy in Holly Springs! Tyson is not just a regular pharmacy — it uses a compliance medication system designed to help patients achieve the best outcomes with their medications.
During the visit, students learned about the Parata Perl machine and the equipment that works with it to help patients stay compliant with their prescriptions and ensure safer medication dispensing and administration.
A huge thank you to the entire Tyson Pharmacy team for taking the time to share your knowledge and making this tour possible! 👏

This learning experience allowed students to bridge classroom instruction with real world application. Through a guided tour Mr. Carter's students observed the intricate processes involved in modern manufacturing including automation, robotics, quality control, and workforce collaboration. The visit demonstrated how technological innovation, problem solving, and teamwork drive success in large scale industries.
Educational experiences like this are vital in helping students make meaningful connections between their agricultural studies and broader career pathways that integrate agriculture, engineering, and technology. Exploration opportunities inspire curiosity, expand students’ understanding of potential career options, and strengthen essential employability skills. By witnessing firsthand how classroom principles apply in professional environments, students gain greater confidence and direction as they plan for their future education and career goals.
