Congratulations to Walker Thompson, August 2026’s Career and Technical Education Student of the Month!

The South Panola Career and Technical Education Department is proud to name Walker Thompson as the Student of the Month for August 2026. Walker is being recognized for his dedication, hard work, and commitment to excellence in Career and Technical Education. Helping recognize Walker’s accomplishment are his Horticulture instructor, Mr. Josh Davenport, and his Diversified Agriculture instructor, Mr. Reggie Carter.

Walker is a second-year Horticulture student as well as a second-year Diversified Agriculture student. His involvement in both programs demonstrates his commitment to developing valuable agricultural skills and gaining hands-on experience that will benefit him in his future career.

Mississippi State Senator Justin Pope is also recognizing Walker’s accomplishment with a $50 check. Additionally, Jamie O'Connor of Thermos LLC generously provided each Student of the Month with a personalized tumbler featuring their name, adding a special touch to this honor. To complete the celebration, Walker is receiving a specially designed T-shirt provided and created by T&R Graphics of Batesville.

Coach Trea Higdon, CTE Director, extends heartfelt congratulations to Walker on this well-deserved recognition. The South Panola Career and Technical Education Department is proud of Walker’s accomplishments and appreciates his commitment to learning, leadership, and personal growth. The department also extends sincere appreciation to the community partners who continue to support and recognize the accomplishments of our CTE students. Their generosity and commitment help provide meaningful opportunities and encouragement for our students.
