The SPHS Autonomous Ops Squadron Drone teams competed this past weekend at the Drone Over Plains Competition at Auburn University. Squad 10308A won Tournament Champion, Judges' Award, and overall All-Around Champion Roundup. Squad 10308B won 2nd place, the Coding Award, and 3rd place overall. The wins earned both squadrons a spot in the Mid-South Aerial Drone Challenge on March 1 to be held here at South Panola High School, as well as earning them spots at the Southeastern Regional Championships in Lexington, SC on April 14-15 and the JROTC Aerial Drone Championship on April 5-6 here in Batesville, MS, at Batesville Civic Center. The Autonomous Ops Squadron will be back in action on February 1 when they travel to Slidell, Louisiana, for the Slidell Invitational.
