This week Pope School Junior High students welcomed various professionals to share the inside scoop about their careers. Career Day Speakers spoke about education requirements and the impacts of computer science and artificial intelligence. They also shared memorable moments that have helped build their careers. Speakers kept our students engaged with a variety of visual aids, hands-on activities, and tools of the trade. Our speakers this year included:
Mrs. Ashley Drumheller, Early Childhood Education Technology Instructor, Northwest Community College
Mrs. Miranda Bryant, Dental Hygienist, Life Dental Group
Mrs. Mandy Herring, Commercial Lines Insurance Underwriter, FCCI
Mrs. Charlotte Cothern, Forensic Scientist, MS Crime Lab
Mr. Marshall Welsh, Chef Manager, Ole Miss Dining
Panola County Sheriff's Office–Chief Deputy Reginald Lantern, Lt. Chantryce Morris, Detective Ellis, Deputy Morgan, and Deputy Dalrymple
Our Bulldogs were grateful to all of our speakers for being so generous with their time and expertise. The participants enriched the education of our junior high students by lending real-world perspectives to their everyday school experiences.
We would like to extend a special thanks to the Pope Booster Club for providing refreshments for our speakers and teachers.
