cartoon bulldogs reading books

'Tis the season for reading at Pope School, and Bulldogs are hitting the books! We have several events to inspire students and families to read. To start, we have kicked of the Bulldog Reading Challenge that continues throughout the semester. Students will compete to see which homeroom obtains the most AR points. In each grade, the homeroom with the most AR points (at least 80% correct) by December 5th will earn a sweet ice cream sundae party!

Bulldogs get an extra treat this week as the Junior Auxiliary of Batesville visits Pope School tomorrow as part of the RIF (Reading Is Fundamental) service project. PreK through 5th grade students will be able to select a book to take home and enjoy!

Next up is the Annual Book Fair that starts on Monday, October 27th and continues through Friday, October 31st. Pope students will be able to visit our school library and shop the book fair during assigned times with their teachers.

The fun continues with Fall Family Literacy Night at Pope School on Thursday, October 30th from 5:30 PM until 7:00 PM. Families will get to enjoy the Reading Fair, story time, crafts, and the Book Fair. Students will also have a chance to take an AR test, and parents will be able to attend a Title I Parent Meeting to find out what Title I means to our families.

Bulldogs are leading the way with reading, so grab a book and join the story!
