SPSD Board of Trustees Approves Hiring of LaCambrise Pope as Head Girls Basketball Coach

 

 

The South Panola School District Board of Trustees recently approved the hiring of LaCambrise Pope as the new South Panola High School head girls basketball coach. Pope will begin her new role on July 1.

Pope is a native of Batesville, and a 2001 graduate of South Panola High School. After high school, she attended Northwest Community College, where she earned an Associate's Degree in Health Science while playing basketball for the Rangers. She was inducted into the NWCC Academic All-American Hall of Fame. She then went on to attend The University of Southern Mississippi and earn a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biological Sciences.

She has over 10 years of teaching and coaching experience. She has taught science throughout the state and served as the head basketball coach at N.R. Burger Middle School, Batesville Junior High School, and Madison Shannon Palmer High School. For the last three years, she has worked as the assistant basketball coach at South Panola High School and a biology teacher.

She and her husband, Jarrad Pope, have a two-year-old son, Josiah.
