South Panola High School will host a Freshmen Academy for incoming freshmen on July 30.
The day will serve as a learning opportunity for students, and parents, who are most certainly welcomed to attend, to tour the ninth-grade wing and become acclimated with their daily schedule.
The Academy will last 90 minutes and will be held at two different times throughout the day: 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Those wishing to take part are encouraged to arrive on time at the SPHS cafeteria in order to not miss out on any pertinent information.
Ninth-grade Principal David Odom, ninth-grade counselor Kyra Cossey and several teachers will lead the tour of the facility and will host a Q & A session to address any questions students or parents might need to be answered.
“We’ll cover everything from looking at the building to their daily schedule to graduation requirements,” Odom said. “We’re looking forward to meeting the new faces students who will walk the hall of the South Panola High School ninth-grade wing.”
Students will also be given ample time to “walk the day” to learn where all their classes are before the first day of the start of the 2019-20 school year on Aug. 7.
