Edwards named SPSD Assistant Superintendent
The South Panola School District Board of Trustees approved the hiring of Dr. Jamone Edwards as assistant superintendent during its monthly meeting on Tuesday (June 18).
Edwards, who will replace Chad Spence after Spence accepted the position of superintendent at Okolona, will begin his new role on July 1.
A native of Batesville and a South Panola High School graduate, Edwards has 13 years of experience in the education field and has served as assistant superintendent at the North Panola School District since 2015. Prior to being named assistant superintendent at North Panola, Edwards was principal at North Panola High School from 2011-15 before serving as a teacher assistant, bus driver, coach and teacher/lead teacher from 2005-11.
Edwards received his Bachelor’s in educational psychology from Mississippi State University before earning his Master’s and Doctorate in educational leadership from the University of Mississippi.
