• COVID-19 Updates

    The South Panola School District is monitoring the events surrounding COVID-19 through frequent contact with the Mississippi State Department of Health, Mississippi Department of Education, Mississippi High School Activities Association and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The health, safety and well-being of our students and staff are our top priorities.

     

     

    Thursday, March 19 -- Due to the continuing health-related concerns pertaining to the Coronavirus pandemic, and on an emergency declaration from Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves, the South Panola School District schools and offices WILL REMAIN CLOSED through April 17, 2020, for ALL STUDENTS AND STAFF. Information from the district regarding distance learning is forthcoming soon.

     


     

    Tuesday, March 17 -- Due to the continuing health-related concerns pertaining to the Coronavirus pandemic, the South Panola School District schools and offices WILL REMAIN CLOSED through the week of March 23-27, 2020, for ALL STUDENTS AND STAFF

     

    On March 16, the Mississippi High School Activities Association suspended interscholastic sports and fine-arts activities competition and practice through March 29 and until further notice. This suspension applies whether or not a school is open or closed during this timeline.

     

    The District will continue to follow all guidelines provided by the Mississippi State Department of Health, Mississippi Department of Education, Mississippi High School Activities Association and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in regards to the virus and monitor all information provided from these agencies as the health, safety and well-being of our students and staff are our top priorities.

     

    With this being a fluid situation, as new details are provided the District will disseminate pertinent information to our students, parents and employees.

     


     

    Saturday, March 14 -- In accordance with Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves’ request, and with the increase of health-related concerns due to the Coronavirus pandemic, all South Panola School District schools and offices WILL BE CLOSED the week of March 16-20, 2020, for ALL STUDENTS AND STAFF

     

    In addition, all athletics and extra-curricular activities are also canceled for the week of March 16-20.

     

    The District will continue to follow all guidelines provided by the Mississippi State Department of Health, Mississippi Department of Education, Mississippi High School Activities Association and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in regards to the virus and monitor all information provided from these agencies as the health, safety and well-being of our students and staff are our top priorities.

    Friday, March 13 -- South Panola School District schools and offices WILL BE CLOSED to students on Monday, March 16, and Tuesday, March 17, in regards to the Coronavirus.

    In addition, schools and offices will be closed to staff on March 16, but March 17 will serve as a professional development day for staff as schools and offices will be open that day for employees. 

    All athletics and extra-curricular activities are also canceled on March 16-17.

    The South Panola School District will follow all guidelines provided by the Mississippi State Department of Health, Mississippi Department of Education, Mississippi High School Activities Association and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in regards to the virus and monitor all information provided from these agencies.
