To be considered for membership, the students must have completed four semesters of college preparatory mathematics and must be enrolled in a fifth semester of mathematics. A yearly average of 85 or higher must be achieved in each math course. In addition, the cumulative average of all other high school courses, excluding math grades, must be an average of 85 or higher with no failing grade in any course. Applications for membership are available at the beginning of 2nd semester.

Blue and gold cords are worn over the graduation gown to distinguish these outstanding students during the graduation ceremony.
