There were two (2) extra days built into the 2016-17 South Panola School District calendar to allow for emergency closings.
The district only used one (1) of those days on Friday, Jan. 6.
Because only one day was used, the second semester will be shortened by one day to allow for the state mandated 180 days for students and 187 days for teachers.
The last day for students to attend school will now be Wednesday, May 24, 2017 – a 60 percent day where students will be released at approximately 1 p.m.
The last work day for teachers is now Thursday, May 25.
